Get To Know Me

Welcome to my world. My name is Ian and I am on a mission to help people live a life with more ease and less pain. I value these aspects of life because I almost lost mine. I initially was an electrical engineer and had a career path in the United States Navy. Unfortunately my career was cut short when I experienced a massive car accident that left me bed ridden with several broken bones in my back, a fragment of plastic in my brain and a reconstructed face. In short my medical care saved my life and I’m forever grateful for Doctor Spafford and his team. This experience led me down a path of deep healing that brought me to massage and exercise. I was determined to correct my posture and it was emotional, difficult and slow. On my path I had help from many mentors and now I desire to share what I learned to help others. Below You’ll find a more in-depth look at what I provide. Also If you just have question about anything please reach out I’m happy to help how I can!

Massage Therapy

First Id like to credit my mentors: Joe Lavin for teaching me Deep Lomi and Nurturing touch, Tracy Windmill for teaching me 3-Dimensional flow, Wassa Lakkham for refining my Thai massage, Chuck Duff for Trigger point Therapy and Gregg Roskopf for muscle activation techniques.

My main flow in massage is Table Thai and Deep Lomi. Defined by gentle and effective stretching combined with long flowy strokes similar to lomi lomi. Luxuriously combining these for a deep relaxation additionally with some hot stones, aromatherapy and CBD oils to add extra bliss if requested.

For treatments I use my Thai stretching combined with Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage Deep Tissue, Massage gun, Cupping and Muscle Activation Techniques to get more immediate results in ease of movements.

A new addition to my services is 4 Handed Massage where my talented friend Emalee Whiteman (check her out here) and I seamlessly create a unique experience using techniques only four hands can provide. Bookable with special request only. -Reach out to fabbodywork@gmail.com for requests-

Personal Training

My personal training is informed by the mindset of “Movement is Medicine”. Most of my sessions have a goal in mind to progress in ability to move and gain access to strength. I use what I have learned from Postural Restoration Institute, Pinnacle Movement by Connor Harris, Corrective Exercises by NASM and any peer reviewed articles I can get my hands.

I understand the frustration that can come when the body doesn’t do what the mind envisions, especially when compared to an earlier more capable version of oneself. So when in my sessions when we run into frustration I find a way for progress to happen by coaching just the right amount of challenge to feel successful. Even if the first exercise is learning how to just show up.

That being said I also really challenge athletes with classic periodization and exercises with massive benefits with reduced wear and tear for longevity.

Integrated Bodywork and Exercise

*Currently in Beta Testing*

I am currently building case studies to prove that I can combine massage and corrective exercising to create immediate and lasting results. Right now I have capacity for 5 studies. This will involve me taking pictures and taking metrics for us to measure differences. I am refining the process and proving the concept so the price per session is only 50$. I am beginning the studies in March. If you are interested in being a part of the process and feeling better please reach out to my email fabbodywork@gmail.com.
